Social Worker - Kinship Support Team - Leicestershire County Council

Leicestershire County Council, is seeking an agency Social Worker for its Kinship Support team.

This role is covering staff sickness and is expected to last 6 months.

The role will involve the following:

• Supervising Social Worker in a Kinship support team.
• Provide supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers to ensure children's needs are met and national minimum standards are upheld.
• Offer targeted support to Special Guardians including financial guidance, therapeutic support, and managing family time.
• Visit families regularly and remain available for advice and guidance
• Direct work with children
• Ensure children's safety and welfare through risk assessments, monitoring, and multi-agency collaboration
• Participate in reviews, safeguarding meetings and court hearings as required

Requirements of the role:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Fully Social Work England registered
• 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
• Must have good post-qualified experience working as a Supervising Social Worker and ideally within a Kinship support team
