What you will do:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and line management to a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring supervision, performance management, and the development of your workforce.
  • Oversee the delivery of assessment, care planning, and review processes in alignment with the Care Act 2014 and council policies.
  • Allocate workload efficiently, ensuring prompt responses to referrals and prioritising complex cases.
  • Ensure robust safeguarding practices, including overseeing Section 42 enquiries and managing risks.
  • Lead on quality assurance, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and compliance with legislation, while adhering to performance standards.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification. Must be registered with Social Work England.
  • Registration & Compliance: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation. Understanding of CQC expectations and local authority governance frameworks. A commitment to the Equality Act 2010 and person-centred practice.
