Job Purpose

The Social Care Manager (SCM) will be responsible for the overall management of TerraGlen Services for children currently based in our services. This includes responsibility for the management of staff and providing the highest standards of residential care to our Service Users. The SCM will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ACIMS (Alternative Care Inspection and Monitoring Service) & the National standards of Residential Care and implementation of TerraGlen's policies and procedures supporting best care and practice in disability services.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a residential centre, ensuring delivery of professional social care practices that support positive outcomes for young people and their families.
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, and organisational policies.
  • Provide strong leadership to the care team, with emphasis on placement planning, staff supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain a therapeutic and child-centred care environment focused on safety, well-being, and consistent support.
  • Oversee and implement training schedules, ensuring all staff are up to date and any additional needs are flagged to senior management.
  • Participate in the on-call system and attend scheduled meetings (e.g., SERG, managers' meetings) to support the wider organisation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required by senior management to ensure smooth and professional centre operations.
What You'll Need
  • Level 8 Degree in Social Care and 4 years' experience of working in a Social Care grade with children
  • OR
  • Level 7 in Social Care and a relevant level 8 management qualification suitable for a health care or social care setting
  • Four years' experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health and social care and an appropriate qualification in health or social care management at an appropriate level.
  • Experience working with people who have complex needs.
Vetting Requirement
  • Successful candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting through the National Vetting Bureau
