The SMT Kitter/loader role is to check off kits as they arrive from stores to ensure all is in the kit and correct. They are then to load the kit onto the relevant feeders to present to the machine operators for individual works orders. When working in a team they will be required check the other persons feeders to ensure all is correct when presented to the lines.
- Be able to kit and de-kit Feeders and trolleys for the SMT placements machines.
- Take a high degree of care of the components handled minimising loss of parts during handling.
- Document all work completed on the SMT process via shopfloor MES system.
- Identify SMT component types and their different package styles.
- Ensure information entered into the manufacturing system is accurate at all times.
- Escalate any work-related problems to the relevant supervisor/production manager/process engineer.
- To ensure that work carried out is in accordance with the appropriate Works Instructions within the OSI quality manual and any deviations from this are communicated to the supervisor.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
- Ability to read and interpret SMT diagrams.
- Be able to split SMT programs if required on main line.
- Understand the stock system and how it is laid out, transferring of stock with PDA.
- Maintain high housekeeping within relevant work area
- Proven experience in Surface Mount Assembly processes within last 10 years.
- Proven IPC-610 qualifications are desirable.
- Familiar with lean concepts and waste reduction.
- Successful completion of OSI Electronics and OSI Corporate training (including training done at Company location). Must become fully competent understanding how OSI Electronics service supports their customers.
