About the Role

As a Small Business Partner, you'll be working with some of our more complex business and small business customers, providing advice around BNZ banking products and services that will support them to achieve their financial goals. You will also grow the portfolio, getting out in market building relationships with future BNZ customers. We have several opportunities available - one to be based out of our Rangiora location covering North Canterbury, as well as another to be based from our Christchurch CBD office on Cashel Street or BNZ The Palms location.

Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a portfolio of new and existing small business customers, with the goal of enhancing customer satisfaction and credit risk profile.
  • Be a trusted partner for clients by demonstrating an understanding of their business.
  • Understand BNZ's specialist offering and refer customers as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain a proactive and structured call cycle and frequent contact with all customers.
  • Maintain strong networking relationships with market advocates and stay up to date with industry activities.

Attributes for Success
  • Proven lending experience and an understanding of business financials is essential.
  • Understanding of the challenges that come with running a small business.
  • Demonstrated business development or previous experience acquiring new business.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex relationships, and work well in a team.
  • Enjoy getting out into the business community and forging long lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
