Overview

Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident and driven Senior Small Animal Vet Surgeon to step into a sole-charge general practice position within a well-established first-opinion environment. This role is ideally suited to a clinician who enjoys autonomy, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to positively influence both clinical standards and team development.


The position combines hands-on clinical work with senior oversight, offering responsibility across consultations, routine surgery, and day-to-day decision-making. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting another veterinarian working across nearby locations, ensuring continuity, guidance, and a consistent clinical approach.

Responsibilities

  • Leading daily clinical activity within a sole-charge general practice setting

  • Providing senior oversight across consultations and routine surgical cases

  • Supporting and guiding an additional veterinarian across shared locations

  • Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and governance

  • Promoting a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment



Qualifications

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK

  • Strong experience within small animal general practise

  • Confidence working independently in a sole-charge role

  • Interest in leadership, mentoring, and team support

  • Clear communication skills with clients and colleagues
