Skilled Production Operative

We are recruiting for a Production Operative to join an established manufacturing business based on the Wirral.
This is a varied, hands on role involving the assembly, inspection, testing and preparation of manufactured products. You will work as part of a production team to ensure products are completed safely, accurately and in line with required quality standards.
The role would suit someone with previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, assembly or production environment, particularly where hydraulic or pneumatic systems have been involved.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and prepare manufactured products in line with production requirements.
- Carry out routine inspection and testing of completed products.
- Carry out hydraulic and pneumatic pressure testing in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Check components and assemblies for leaks, faults or defects.
- Record test results and complete relevant production documentation.
- Identify defects, damage or quality concerns and report these appropriately.
- Determine whether products require repair, rework or replacement.
- Operate a range of production machinery and equipment.
- Use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
- Support repair and rework activities where required.
- Ensure finished products meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production and testing records.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Support continuous improvement activities across the production area.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
- Assist with other production duties as required.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Operate machinery, testing equipment and production equipment safely.
- Carry out appropriate checks before using equipment.
- Follow safe working procedures when undertaking pressure testing.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Report hazards, defects or unsafe working practices.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, engineering or assembly environment.
- Experience operating production machinery or equipment.
- Good practical and mechanical skills.
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, systems or pressure testing would be highly advantageous.
- Experience carrying out inspection, testing or quality checks.
- A good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to follow procedures and technical instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work independently when required.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Basic computer skills.
Experience within an engineering, industrial, mechanical or technical manufacturing environment would be beneficial, although appropriate training can be provided.
