Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a full-time HGV & plant mechanic to join our team.
Based in Ramsbottom, we are one of the largest, family run, waste management companies in Manchester, Lancashire and the North West. We run a fleet of mainly Volvo HGV's and Volvo and Liebherr plant that we maintain to a very high standard.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Minimum 3 years experience working on HGV's.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Inspecting vehicles
Diagnosing faults
Servicing vehicles
Prepping vehicles and trailers to MOT standard
Repairs and on-going maintenance - carrying out a wide range of defect repairs from replacing a bulb to replacing brake discs and pads or a hydraulic ram on either HGV or plant
Attending to vehicle and plant breakdowns on and off site
Vehicle tyre changes on and off site
Problem solving
Must be able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults
Able to complete daily defect sheets, paperwork, job cards and service sheets in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles and plant
Good literacy and numeracy skills and attention to detail are important
Any further training needed will be provided
Monday - Friday 7-5 with occasional overtime
29 days holiday per year including bank holidays
