What you will be doing
We are looking for a qualified Site Service Shift Engineer to join our UK team based at Manchester Airport. Reporting to the Field Services Area Manager, you will support on-site installation, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of airport security systems at our client site.
Key Responsibilities- Under limited supervision, perform a wide variety of technical support activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing x-ray and CT based security systems at customer sites, including complex products and problems. May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
- Help develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients and major UK international & regional airports to ensure client satisfaction through delivery and maintenance of security and detection products and services.
- Perform duties described below; the duties may change from time to time without notice.
- Coordinate planning and delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) services on various types of security search equipment.
- Install, calibrate, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair X-Ray and CT based security systems of a highly complex nature; provide support to customers via phone or on-site.
- Prepare and conduct formal and informal training for customer personnel in operation and maintenance of systems and equipment; provide on-site technical and operator training.
- Assist customers to identify operational/technical problems; respond to complaints and questions until resolved.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system/equipment interface problems during installations.
- Familiarize customer personnel with full capabilities of equipment and advise on equipment changes and Modifications.
- Proficient with Salesforce or similar CRM software and complete admin tasks by required deadlines.
- Graduate of technical school or military training in electronics engineering technology is highly desirable.
- Solid experience in a site or field service environment within a directly applicable industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of x-ray, CT technologies and the company's products and equipment.
- Excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of complex digital and analog circuitry; Linux skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope); experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment preferred.
- Team player who can prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously and independently. May be required to lift heavy weights.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Security and Detection Systems; Aviation; Operating in a global environment.

Location: Based in Manchester Airport, UK, within commuting distance.
