Job Description
Responsibilities 
- Set a SSHE Implementation Plan to deliver against the European and Global SSHE Strategies.
- Set goals and plans to meet cluster and SSHE commitments.
- Manage the site SSHE team responsible to deliver results.
- Maintain a strong network across the geography to manage the risk of upcoming changes and build plans into existing priorities particularly in new capital projects, new business acquisitions and divestitures.
- Govern to drive strong SSHE culture.
- Lead the culture change process for SSHE across the site, designing and operating a governance process to track site performance against all SSHE targets.
- Ensure progress meets company expectations across the organization.
- Lead the auditing program across the site, ensuring simplification and full compliance.
- Ensure global governance tools like PAR, SPR, Safety Pillar, SHENet, MOC, SIRA, Power BI and others represent the geography accurately.
- Maintain local governance tools as necessary.
- Oversee sites legal compliance and ensure they meet all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards.
- Manage change to balance risk according to proper Management of change procedure.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place at all times.
- Ensure the Security Minimum Mandatory Requirements are in place on site.
- Lead the Security Site compliance.
- Maintain documented standards, policies, and practices to ensure SSHE compliance with regulatory and Unilever expectations.
- Support global reporting with data and verbiage for internal and external company reports for SSHE technologies ensuring accuracy and brand protection.
- Develop local reporting and conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses and safe behaviour observations.
- Translate global standards into local language and ensure compliance.
- Manage professional SSHE skills within the SSHE team by determining training needs and assisting in delivery of training programs.
- Maintain local expertise in specific SSHE technologies like machinery safety, mechanized material handling equipment safety, safe driving, office safety, safe travel, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, emergency planning and response, security, process safety, water, air and waste compliance requirements and other aspects.
- Participate in Incident Management, Emergency Planning and Response.
- Advise line management in all safety, security, and environmental accident/incident investigations.
- Assist the Leadership Team in leading and developing the internal Incident Management committees and Central SHE committee.
- Support site leaders in serious incident investigation and analysis.
- Lead critical root cause investigations for complex incidents.
- Operate within the boundaries of SSHE business expectations in cost, capital, and headcount.
- Experience in Supply Chain operations.
- Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management.
- University degree in Science or Engineering.
- Technology experience in engineering, modelling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations, environmental impact on the planet, and how those technologies across Unilever impact risk beneficially.
- Knowledge in human behaviour and work process associated with unplanned event management.
- Excellent knowledge of SSHE standards.
- Working knowledge using all SSHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.
- Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
- Good observation and auditing skills.
- Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a wide organization.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
- Proven experience in extended Supply Chain operations.
- Proven experience in SSHE role.
- Contacts: Internal - all functions at the manufacturing, Global SSHE Leader, Site Leaders, European SSHE team, Group SSHE team. External - contractors, government agencies and regulatory authorities.
