Job Description

Urban is seeking an experienced Site Manager in a lead role (boots-on-the-ground), on one of our newly commencing apartment construction projects in Dublin. Working closely with the Project Manager your primary responsibility will be the management of site operations with a focus on production and programme delivery, in line with our Quality and Safety standards. This is a key leadership role providing stewardship to our engineering, safety, foremen and logistics teams to ensure effective overall site management by the Urban team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall leadership of site operations, deputising for the Project Manager from time to time, as required, including leading the Daily Whiteboard Meeting
  • Coordination and production management of key trade subcontractors, ensuring efficient sequencing of the works packages in line with programme
  • Ownership of near-term works programmes, proactive planning and execution of site operations inc. liaising with key stakeholders / public utilities, local authority, as required
  • Liaising with the site engineering and design team to ensure early resolution of technical bottlenecks and buildability issues that could otherwise impede programme
  • Overseeing workmanship across the key works packages with direct responsibility for a selection of subcontractor works packages
  • Working with the logistics manager to ensure site setup and materials management supports the safe and efficient execution of the works programme

Note: The role will support the PM generally across all aspects of project delivery, offering a pathway towards a future role in Project and Contracts Management with Urban, if desired by the candidate.

Qualification

5+ years Site Management / trades background, with strong works planning & technical competency

or

5+ years Senior Engineer - Degree Qualified (ambition to progress to site / project management)

  • High-density residential apartments project experience in a main contractor environment
  • Good understanding of Construction Workflow and subcontract works sequencing
  • Good communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment
  • Team player able to engage in a productive manner with subcontractors and direct labour
  • Comfortable working in a busy, energetic environment; strong work ethic

Self-starter able to work to his/her own initiative
