Job Description
Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a major construction project in Clondalkin.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards, and in line with the agreed programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and specialist contractors.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Manage site activities in line with the construction programme.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Monitor progress and report against programme milestones.
  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, engineers, design teams, and client representatives.
  • Review drawings, specifications, programmes, and construction information.
  • Identify and resolve technical and construction issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all works meet required quality standards and project specifications.
  • Manage inspections, snagging, testing, and handover activities.
  • Ensure subcontractors are working in accordance with agreed programmes and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and relevant project documentation.
  • Lead by example in relation to health & safety and ensure site procedures are followed.
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings and coordination meetings.
  • Assist with short-term planning and sequencing of works.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the site team.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain.
Requirements
  • Relevant construction qualification or trade background.
  • 5+ years' experience in a Site Management position.
  • Proven experience working with a main contractor.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to demanding project deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and project delivery processes.
Experience on large-scale projects within sectors such as:
  • Commercial construction
  • Public sector / infrastructure

Experience working within a Tier 1 main contractor environment would be highly advantageous.
