Job Description

Reporting to the SVP, Global Operations and Supply Chain, the Site Leader will be an accomplished change agent with a proven track record of learning agility, maximizing employee engagement, and building a collaborative operations-quality-compliance work environment. This position will be responsible for driving sustainable and scalable process changes at all organizational levels and continuously improving the site's execution. Direct reporting functions include Production, Mechanical & Electrical Services (i.e., Technical Services), Facilities, and Plant Engineering. The Site Leader will closely collaborate with colleagues in a matrixed environment to deliver critical projects and service improvements throughout the site campus. This position is responsible for developing and achieving key performance metrics throughout the organization, including P&L accountability. The Site Leader will champion a culture of world-class cGMP operations, leading the development, implementation, and adherence to all GMP procedures and policies related to site operations in partnership with both direct and matrixed teams. The role involves directing and coordinating operations activities to establish strategies and programs that meet key operating imperatives: Quality, Supply, Responsiveness, Cost, and Talent excellence. The Site Leader will analyze critical financial and operational data to ensure compliance with targets and support the overall business plan.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list outlines the minimum responsibilities for the Site Leader position. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Provide direction and support in developing and implementing the operations strategy, ensuring alignment with business strategies. This role has end-to-end accountability for process improvements in production, ensuring high-quality services are delivered on schedule and within budget. Build a culture focused on customer satisfaction and financial goals.
  • Establish management systems to ensure delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial commitments from an operations perspective.
  • Maintain statistical process control procedures and act on trends or variances outside established limits requiring corrective actions.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of workstreams to challenge current cost structures, drive efficiencies, and ensure high-quality products and services are achieved on time and in full.
  • Develop and implement Facilities strategies (AHUs, DHUs capex, BAS, preventive maintenance, calibrations) with timely execution and documentation.
  • Ensure delivery of quality standards in all manufactured products.
  • Implement innovative processes and procedures to enhance GMP compliance, productivity, efficiency, cost competitiveness, and quality.
  • Lead a culture where people can grow to their fullest potential, supporting engagement, development, and employee experience while achieving results.
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to align on organizational objectives related to Quality, Production, Talent planning, and other service enhancement programs.
  • Ensure budget and gross margin goals are met, along with customer service level objectives.
  • Lead the operations leadership team in developing objectives, strategies, and policies.
  • Establish procedures, policies, and training programs to attain manufacturing best practices.
  • Oversee plant's cGMP compliance, periodically assessing capacity needs and managing capital investments to expand capacity as needed.
  • Engage with HR to support people programs, staffing, training, and workforce motivation initiatives supported by a solid business case.
  • Develop and maintain an operations business plan focused on fiscal year performance, infrastructure, and a high-performance future.
  • Foster a culture of Process Excellence emphasizing urgency and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must perform all essential duties satisfactorily. The following are required or preferred qualifications:

  • A strategic leader with operational expertise, capable of motivating diverse talents and managing change while maintaining employee stability and morale.
  • Excellent communication, energizing, and motivating skills across functions and levels, including matrixed environments.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, with a strong presence on the shop floor.
  • Goal-oriented, with a high sense of urgency, accountability, and results focus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, coaching, and developing others.
  • Tough-minded yet team-oriented, with a high degree of autonomy and followership ability.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in engineering or science. A minimum of 15 years in plant operations or technical management of complex networks is essential, with strong GMP knowledge. Experience with operational excellence tools like Lean, Six Sigma, or 5S is preferred. Financial acumen to manage budgets and develop business cases is required. Experience in building and leading efficient manufacturing operations and managing change is critical.
