What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will:
- Provide assistant technical support in the detailed planning and execution of all
of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works as allocated by the Senior Project
Engineer; - Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office;
- Attend relevant meetings including Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings as
required; - Manage the work to meet agreed financial targets, performance KRAs and other
KPI's; - Manage works in compliance with all relevant Safety Legislation and Welfare
Regulations; - Manage works in compliance with the BBRL technical specifications, processes
and procedures and Network Rail Group and Line Standards; - Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on
site, preparation of documents; - Ensure the preparation and submission of Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts,
WPP's, task Briefs and other site documentation for all works; - Undertake safety inspections;
- Submit Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) in a timely manner.
Who we're looking for
Important Experience:
- Experience in a Track Renewals / Enhancements environment or similar;
- Proficient knowledge of site technical activities and quality control, this
should include but not limited to surveying, setting out, dozing, and
tamping; - An appreciation of Network Rail standards;
- Appreciation of the Health and Safety at Works Act 1974 and CDM
Regulations 2015.
Important skills:
- Computer literate;
- Effective communicator;
- Works well under pressure;
- Collaborative;
- Problem Solver;
- Ability to produce documentation to a professional standard;
- UK Driving License;
- Trimble SPS930 and GPS Survey Equipment.
Desirable:
- Minimum 2 years' experience;
- PTS (Personal Track Safety);
- Educated to Degree / HND / HNC Standard in Civil Engineering or
similar subject; - Member of professional institution including PWI (Permanent Way
Institution or ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers); - Familiar with BIM Field 360.
