About the Role

We are looking for professional and reliable Security Officers to join our team covering a portfolio of HMO accommodation sites across Newport.

This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in creating a safe, secure and supportive environment for residents, visitors and staff. You will be responsible for maintaining site security, managing incidents, conducting patrols and ensuring that all residents feel safe within their accommodation.

This position requires excellent communication skills, a calm and professional approach, and the ability to deal confidently with challenging situations while maintaining a customer focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of HMO properties and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor access to buildings and challenge unauthorised individuals.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances and welfare concerns.
  • Support vulnerable residents whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and daily occurrence logs.
  • Liaise with housing providers, emergency services and management teams when required.
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures, health and safety requirements and safeguarding protocols.
  • Assist in preventing anti social behaviour, criminal activity and property damage.
  • Provide reassurance and a visible security presence across all sites.
What We're Looking For
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Strong report writing and IT skills.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred due to multiple site locations).
  • Experience working within housing, supported accommodation or HMO environments.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and vulnerable persons.
  • Experience of conflict management and de escalation techniques.
