Our local British Red Cross shop offers volunteers a range of activities, from sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to donors and customers. The shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.
Volunteer roleGeneral Assistant volunteers support us in the shop. Activities include assisting behind the scenes with sorting and preparing donated stock, helping prepare attractive displays on the shop floor, and other general shop support.
Typical activities- Checking the quality of donated items and preparing them for sale or recycling
- Ironing, cleaning, labelling and pricing items ready for sale
- Keeping the shop well organised and tidy
- General activities around the shop
- Creating exciting window displays
- Sorting donations for selling in the shop
- Meeting new people
A few hours during the week or weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask that you agree hours you can attend and inform us if they may change.
