Shop Assistant Part Time

This part-time Shop Assistant role at Thornford Park, part of Elysium Healthcare, involves ensuring the smooth daily running of the hospital shop. You will be responsible for stock management, customer service, and maintaining a clean and well-organised retail environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for replenishing and re-ordering stock, unpacking deliveries, assisting with stock-taking, and maintaining accurate records. You'll make sure items are stored correctly, monitor usage, rotate stock, and help deliver goods to wards and departments. Keeping the shop and storage areas clean, well-organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements is also a key part of the role. You will use basic IT skills to communicate with suppliers, place orders, and ensure pricing and labeling is accurate. Strong communication skills and a friendly, service-user-focused approach are essential as you'll be interacting with staff, service users, and external contacts regularly.

In this important role, you will ensure the shop operates efficiently, safely and in line with our standards. You will be responsible for replenishing and reordering stock, unpacking deliveries, assisting with stock-taking, and maintaining accurate records. You'll make sure items are stored correctly, monitor usage, rotate stock and help deliver goods to wards and departments when needed. Keeping the shop and storage areas clean, well organised and compliant with Occupational Health & Safety requirements is also a key part of the role.

You will use basic IT skills to communicate with suppliers, place orders via online procurement systems, and ensure pricing and labelling is accurate. Strong communication skills and a friendly, service user focused approach are essential, as you'll be interacting with staff, service users and external contacts regularly. Previous experience in administration, stock management or a similar retail environment will be an advantage.

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Relevant experience in Admin and Stock management
• IT skill to manage supplies and communication.
