Job Description

We are presently recruiting a Shift Technician for our clients in County Kerry. The company in question manufactures precision components for the global healthcare market. The company uses insert injection moulding, silicone moulding, and automated assembly process to manufacture large volumes on a 24 / 7 basis. This is a fulltime, permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Shift Production Supervisor to keep production running smoothly during the shift
  • Gain hands on experience in injection moulding, silicone moulding, and automated assembly.
  • Troubleshoot, fine tune processes, and respond to machine breakdowns promptly.
  • Assist with mould changeovers, routine maintenance, and process optimisation to reduce downtime.
  • Ensure product quality meets documented specifications and production targets are achieved.
  • Monitor machine performance, reject levels, and material usage to maintain efficiency.
  • Communicate shift objectives clearly to team members and help organise workflow.
  • Step in to supervise and manage operatives when the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Ensure raw materials and components are available for continuous production.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment, following cleanroom and hygiene regulations.
  • Support employee training and keep training records up to date.
  • Report issues or concerns to management in a timely and constructive manner.
Qualifications and experiences
  • 1+ years' experience in a similar position
  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g. QQI Level 6, Diploma, or equivalent in engineering, electrical, mechanical or manufacturing disciplines) is highly desirable but not essential
  • Basic understanding of injection moulding, silicone moulding or automated assembly processes (desirable)

Salary is open to negotiation based on experience. In addition, shift premiums are paid.
