Shift Operations TechnicianLocation: Athlone - On-Site with some travel required to other sites for training/meeting purposes

Due to the nature of our 24/7 operation, this position requires participation in a rotating shift pattern and standby rota. Full flexibility regarding working hours and shift arrangements is essential.
Key Accountabilities- Engagement and collaboration with key teams to support the development of a Zero harm and continuous improvement safety and environmental culture and ensure Safety, contractual, REMIT, Permit & License compliance.
- Monitoring energy assets both locally and remotely to highlight any issues.
- Maximise Asset operational efficiency in line with contractual, Licence & Permit requirements.
- Control, & Dispatch of Assets in line with local regulations and rules.
- Managing events and unforeseen issues and escalating as required to minimise the impact and support event investigations to deliver a continuous improvement culture.
- Providing professional, concise communications to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of all tasks undertaken and ensure routines are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensuring a comprehensive and thorough handover takes place between shift teams to maintain continuity of safe operations and ensure ongoing knowledge of work activities.
- Working efficiently in an SLA (Service Level Agreement) driven team environment.
- Producing reports detailing asset availability and performance patterns.
- Adhering to all applicable company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
- Close collaboration with multiple internal business units such as Site teams, Asset Development, Operations, Trading, Finance, Regulation & DTS - providing technical advice and support services facilitating the success and growth of these areas.
- Engagement with external stakeholders such as system operators, transmission operators, regulators, compliance bodies and OEM's.
- Take part in project teams or manage various projects as the business requires.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in the Operation of Energy Assets and SCADA control systems.
- Data analytical skills, beneficial if experienced on PI Systems, Power BI and Excel.
- Ability to source, combine, analyse and presentation of large datasets.
- Experience in an Operations Environment or Control rooms or experience in Energy Assets or process environment.
- Education and Certifications required to perform the role.
- Qualification or extensive experience in (e.g., Electrical, Controls, Process, Systems engineering or Computer Science).
- Post qualification experience in a role involving Operations & Engineering work, in an energy related company is beneficial.
- Desirable but not essential Knowledge of energy markets and System Service markets and how energy assets interacts with these markets will be an advantage.
- Experience of Operational environments and Control rooms experience working with EDIL and Remit processes.
