Description

We are hiring for our client, an established Civil Engineering and Utilities contractor based in Co. Down, on the recruitment of a SHEQ Advisor. This SHEQ role is based in the office with regular visits to active project sites, working closely with operational teams, site management, and senior leadership. The successful Health & Safety role will help maintain and improve health and safety standards across multiple live civil engineering and utilities projects, promoting a positive safety culture and supporting project teams in delivering work safely and efficiently.

The Role
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety assessments
  • Support site management teams with risk assessments and method statements
  • Monitor compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and training sessions
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations following inspections
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors and regulatory bodies
The Person
  • 3+ years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within utilities or civil engineering
  • NEBOSH, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Full clean driving licence, essential
  • Proven experience of site audits, inspections and safety reporting
  • Strong knowledge of UK/Irish health and safety legislation
  • Experience across multiple live civil engineering or utilities projects
