SharePoint Manager/Lead (SPFx/Azure) - Contract (UK Remote)

Contract Length: 12 months
Location: Remote (UK-based) - occasional onsite workshops

Overview

We're supporting a major professional services organisation on the expansion of a strategic, enterprise-scale digital platform. This contract role sits within a high-performing advisory technology team and will play a key part in delivering a proof of concept and shaping a broader global rollout.

You'll work closely with an established UK team that holds deep platform knowledge, while coordinating delivery across both UK and offshore resources. This is a fast-paced engagement requiring strong SharePoint engineering capability, leadership, and experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.

The Role

As the SharePoint Manager/Lead, you will take ownership of the design, build, and automation of SharePoint Online solutions. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll be leading development, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve custom SharePoint Online site structures (content types, lists, libraries, permissions) using PnP templates

• Develop custom UI components using:

  • SharePoint Framework (SPFx)

  • TypeScript

  • React

  • Visual Studio Code

  • Git

• Implement automated site provisioning and deployment of UI components using:

  • Azure Functions

  • Azure Logic Apps

• Work within an Agile delivery model, managing work in Azure DevOps

• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure and code

• Coordinate and manage UK and offshore development resources

• Participate in in-person workshops as required (UK-based)

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience building SharePoint Online customisations using the SPFx toolchain

  • TypeScript/JavaScript, NodeJS, Git

• Proven knowledge of SharePoint Patterns and Practices (PnP) tooling:

  • PnPJS, PnP.Framework, PnP.PowerShell

• Demonstrable experience delivering solutions across the Microsoft 365 + Azure stack

  • Azure Functions, Logic Apps (automation/provisioning focus)

• Comfortable working across the full SDLC: discovery - design - build - deploy

• Experience working in Agile teams, collaborating via Azure DevOps

Desirable

• Experience with CI/CD and Azure DevOps pipelines

• .NET Core/C# exposure (especially with Azure Functions)

• Background in consulting or enterprise-scale technology programmes
