Setting Out Engineer

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Setting Out Engineer. What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer?

Our site engineers play a critical role in the successful delivery of our projects. You'll manage day-to-day quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and approvals. You'll also assist the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform daily site quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and approvals.

• Support the Site Manager in liaising with the Engineering and Integration team to resolve conflicts and ensure work complies with specifications and drawings.

• Assist the site management teams with health, safety, and environmental management, and coordinate with commercial, procurement, planning, and supply chain teams.

• Support the Site Manager in calling off materials, managing stock control, and liaising with procurement to ensure orders are within approved limits.

• Identify and highlight potential issues before they escalate.

• Ensure delivery of the project programme, quality standards, and budget.

• Explore and implement alternative methods for better delivery.

• Minimize waste by ordering only the materials required to optimize project performance.

• Strive to reduce capital carbon emissions through innovation, substitution, and elimination of unnecessary processes.

You should have experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, with the ability to plan ahead. Experience in Temporary Works supervision or lifting supervision is preferred but not essential. You should be proactive in resolving technical issues, possess a can-do attitude, and be enthusiastic about innovation and completing projects successfully. A desire to pursue a career in construction is also important.
