We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Sessional Hockey Coach to join our inclusive coaching team to help deliver high-quality coaching sessions across our junior and adult hockey programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing players, creating enjoyable training environments, and helping grow participation in hockey. The role would particularly suit an early-career coach who is actively involved in the sport, either as a current or recent player.
- Plan and deliver engaging hockey training sessions.
- Coach players of varying ages and abilities.
- Support player development through technical and tactical coaching.
- Create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Work alongside fellow coaches, volunteers and club officials.
- Attend occasional tournaments, festivals and development events.
- Sessional Hockey Coaching Qualification (e.g. Level 2 Award in Sessional Hockey Coaching or equivalent).
- Current safeguarding certification.
- First Aid qualification
- Valid DBS/PVG check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passion for developing players and promoting participation.
- Active hockey player competing at club, university, county or higher level.
- Experience coaching junior or adult hockey programmes.
- Experience supporting talent development pathways.
- Strong self-awareness and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to build positive relationships with players.
- Capacity to create an enjoyable, player-centred environment.
- Good understanding of the game and player development.
- Competitive hourly coaching rates.
