Job Description

We're seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate educator with a sparkling personality to join our well-resourced centreto support our tamariki, parents and whānau in facilitating child led play.
You will work alongside ourCentre whānauto open the sessions and guide activities, facilitate learning for our members and tamariki while role modelling child led play and positive guidance.
The successful candidate will support whānau in the use of Te Reo Māori,encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme to increase qualification levels at our centre, and demonstrate the benefits of participating to whānau.
Let your inner author shine writing learning stories highlighting tamariki achievements, developments, learning and wonders while supporting whānau to explore their light bulb moments.
We are all about mentoring and supporting parents/ whānau /members/tamariki as they explore and learn with their children during these very special years.

This casual position offers hours as and when required.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 orhigher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
  • Hold a primary teaching qualification and be prepared to undertake a Playcentre Bridging Course

Desirable skills and experience will include:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
  • Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.
  • Knowledge of ECE regulations or willingness to upskill
  • Ability to use technology
