Service Technician

Location: Hedge End, Hampshire

Salary: £37,000 - £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)

About the Role

A respected automotive retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Service Technician to join its busy aftersales team in Hedge End. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults efficiently and accurately.
• Complete vehicle health checks and identify any necessary remedial work.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workshop and manufacturer procedures.
• Support and mentor less experienced technicians where required.
• Liaise with customers when appropriate, providing updates on repairs and servicing.
• Attend ongoing technical and manufacturer training courses.
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Consistently meet productivity and quality targets.

Requirements

• Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience working within a dealership or franchise environment preferred.
• MOT Tester qualification advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• Strong commitment to customer service and quality workmanship.
