Job Description

Ready to lead a high-performing service team and make a real impact?

We're looking for an exceptional Service Manager to take the wheel of a busy, growing automotive aftersales operation. This is not a role for someone who simply wants to manage a workshop. We're looking for a leader who can inspire people, delight customers, drive performance, and continuously improve every aspect of the department.

If you're the type of person who enjoys turning good teams into great teams, loves KPIs almost as much as customer satisfaction, and gets a genuine buzz from developing people, we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for you?
  • Quarterly bonus
  • Additional annual overachievement bonus
  • Company demonstrator vehicle
  • Ongoing manufacturer training and development
The Opportunity

As Service Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for leading a successful service operation, including a modern workshop and van service facility.

You'll work closely with service advisors, workshop controllers, technicians, parts teams and senior management to ensure customers receive outstanding service while the department achieves its financial and operational goals.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to coach, motivate and develop people will be just as important as your ability to manage performance.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing service team
  • Driving departmental profitability and labour sales
  • Improving workshop productivity, efficiency and utilisation
  • Managing capacity planning and workshop throughput
  • Coaching service advisors, workshop controllers and technicians
  • Monitoring and improving technician performance metrics
  • Achieving manufacturer and departmental KPI targets
  • Managing customer concerns and ensuring swift resolutions
  • Reducing work in progress and improving vehicle turnaround times
  • Working collaboratively with the Parts Department
  • Leading daily planning and operational meetings
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining talented team members
  • Maintaining manufacturer standards and operational compliance
Safety First
  • You'll also play a key role in promoting a strong Health & Safety culture by:
  • Ensuring safe workshop practices are always followed
  • Maintaining compliance with legislation and company policies
  • Conducting risk assessments and resolving potential hazards
  • Supporting staff training and PPE compliance
  • Creating a safe environment for colleagues, customers and visitors
