Job Description

We are looking for experienced SC Cleared Service Designers to support a major Central Government digital transformation programme, working across complex public-sector services within a large, multidisciplinary delivery environment.

We are looking for people who can demonstrate hands-on Service Design experience within Central Government and strong knowledge of GDS standards and principles.

Key Experience

  • Active SC Clearance
  • Strong Central Government/Public Sector experience
  • Proven experience working with GDS Service Standards and GDS Design Principles
  • End-to-end Service Design experience from discovery through to delivery
  • Current-state and future-state journey mapping
  • Service blueprints and service mapping
  • User-centred design and complex service/process mapping
  • Experience facilitating workshops, co-design sessions and design sprints
  • Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design
  • Ability to visualise and communicate complex services clearly
  • Experience working across complex programmes with multiple stakeholders and/or suppliers

Senior/Lead candidates

For more senior profiles, we are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Led Service Design workstreams
  • Defined Service Design approaches, methods and outputs
  • Experience supporting or delivering GDS Service Assessments
  • Worked across large-scale or complex Government transformation programmes
  • Experience within multi-vendor/multi-disciplinary environments
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders across policy, operational, technology and delivery teams
  • Experience mentoring or providing guidance to other UCD professionals
