Job Description
About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate, resilient and dedicated SEN/SEMH Teacher to join a specialist school in Croydon supporting children and young people aged 6-19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties.You will be delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of abilities while supporting students to develop academically, emotionally, and socially in a safe and structured environment.Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons across KS1-KS5 Support students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans (EHCPs) Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders Track progress and contribute to reviews and reporting Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive outcomes for all learnersWe are looking for someone who is: A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) or experienced SEN educator Confident working with children and young people with complex needs Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies Patient, empathetic, and resilient under pressure Passionate about making a difference in alternative/special education Able to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needsDesirable Experience SEN or SEMH school experience Experience with Autism (ASC), ADHD, trauma-informed practice Background in primary, secondary, or alternative provision settings Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated curriculum deliveryWhat We Offer Supportive and experienced leadership team Small class sizes and strong staff-to-student ratios Ongoing CPD and specialist training opportunities A rewarding role where every day makes a real impact Opportunity to shape positive outcomes for vulnerable learnersApply NowIf you are committed to inclusive education and want to support young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential, we would love to hear from you.Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
