LOCATION: London - Hybrid.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £60,000 - £75,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of the roleWe are looking for a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist to join the BBC as a Senior Wellbeing Manager. This pivotal role brings expert psychological insight to shape and deliver our strategic approach to mental health and wellbeing across a diverse, global workforce. You'll be working in a fast-paced media environment, supporting teams who often operate in high-risk and demanding settings.

Responsibilities- Lead the strategic development and delivery of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the BBC.
- Provide expert clinical advice and psychological support to teams exposed to wellbeing risks, especially in journalism and newsgathering.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Editorial teams to identify and mitigate psychological risks in the workplace.
- Design and implement proactive interventions that promote psychologically healthy working environments.
- Support critical incident responses and trauma-informed care following major news events.
- Champion a culture of openness, inclusion, and psychological wellbeing across all levels of the organisation.
- Use data and research to evaluate impact and continuously improve wellbeing programmes.
- HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with substantial post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record of applying psychological principles in complex, high-pressure environments.
- Deep understanding of the psychological risks associated with journalism, trauma exposure, and/or frontline reporting.
- Strategic thinker with experience in designing and delivering organisational wellbeing programmes.
- Experience working within media or similarly dynamic industries.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices in global or cross-cultural contexts.
- Familiarity with data-driven approaches to wellbeing programme evaluation.
- Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in workplace wellbeing.
