UAL is made up of six renowned colleges and hosts several institutes that further the university's mission and social purpose. Under the leadership of our new President and Vice-Chancellor, we are designing the University around social purpose; through the students and ideas we send out into the world, and the partnerships we build to achieve social, environmental, and economic progress.
Digital & Technology at UAL is on an exciting journey, transitioning from a 'classic' IT approach to a user-centred product approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.
The Senior UI Designer will play a leading role in the user interface design of our products and the evolution of our design system and accessibility standards. This role will be an active member in our design community in Digital and Technology, providing coaching and line management to other designers within the team.
You will lead the creation of UI design assets across UAL's digital platforms, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs. You will also evolve and maintain a shared digital design system, ensuring consistency, brand alignment and accessibility across our digital services, whilst providing efficiency and scalability to workflows.
This role will join a team of user experience, user interface designers and user researchers, and will collaborate closely with the product teams to align all UI design and research processes with our agile delivery process and advocate for a culture of continuous improvement.
In this recruitment round, we are seeking a Senior UI Designer to work across our Student Experience service teams as we focus on creating and enhancing a seamless and reliable digital experience. You will champion the evolution and implementation of easy-to-use principles, standards, and methodologies for UI design, ensuring they are adopted and developed over time. We welcome applications from experienced UI Designers who want to work for an organisation that is committed to social purpose and is growing to face new opportunities and challenges.
