We are recruiting a Senior Topographical Surveyor to support a major, long-term infrastructure project in Somerset. This is a delivery focused role for someone who knows their way around complex sites, produces clean data, and takes pride in doing things properly.

You'll be trusted with responsibility, given the right kit and offered genuine progression rather than empty promises. This position suits a surveyor who is technically strong, calm under pressure, and comfortable working on live, high profile sites where accuracy matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality topographical surveys on a major infrastructure project
  • Operate Leica Total Stations, specifically the TS16, with confidence and accuracy

  • Carry out laser scanning data processing and quality checks
  • Ensure all data is accurate, consistent, and fit for downstream design and construction use
  • Work closely with engineers, site teams, and project managers
  • Maintain instruments and uphold best practice in survey methods and site procedures
  • Support junior surveyors where required and contribute to team standards
Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Topographical Surveyor on civil or infrastructure projects
  • Strong hands on use of Leica TS16 Total Station
  • Working knowledge of StarNET for network adjustment and data processing
  • Experience processing laser scan data
  • Solid understanding of survey control, setting out, and quality assurance
  • Comfortable working independently on complex sites
  • CSCS Card and clean criminal record for SC Clearance.
What You'll Bring

You're methodical, detail driven, and take ownership of your work. You understand the downstream impact of survey data and deliver it right the first time. You're reliable, technically capable, and interested in progressing within a business that values competence over noise.

What's On Offer
  • £40,000 - £45,000 salary depending on experience
  • Company vehicle
  • High quality survey instruments provided
  • Clear and genuine progression on a major project
  • Long term, stable work in Somerset
