As a Senior Test Engineer, we're looking for an experienced test specialist to work with our media client on their Content Metadata testing team which is responsible for a centralised metadata system providing manual and automatic ways for teams to access data on their products. The role is to provide test expertise and support to the engineering teams working across the Content Metadata products. This exciting position involves performing exploratory, regression, integration and cross-browser testing of a React front-end as well as back-end APIs, data pipelines and data stores. The successful applicant will have experience with cloud platforms especially AWS (Lambda, CloudWatch and S3), familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI or RestAssured and good knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, experience with Playwright, an ability to write or debug code and an understanding of test strategies in microservices or event-driven architectures would be beneficial.
Key Skills and Responsibilities Essential Skills:You will:
- enjoy conducting all types of testing, especially regression
- have experience in AWS
- have good knowledge of testing APIs
- have working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
- be used to working with other team members to define test requirements on tickets and provide test input during all stages of development
- be able to write high quality documentation
- have experienced working in an Agile team
- be a keen team player with a strong willingness to learn
- familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions
- experience of Playwright or similar testing framework
- ability to write or debug Python code/JavaScript scripts to support testing
- understanding of microservices/event driven architecture testing strategies
- strong communication and influencing skills
- excellent problem-solving skills with a growth mindset
- possess strong attention to detail
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience.
- Proven experience as a Senior Tester Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
- Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with providing coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
- You are flexible and curious in your approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Duration of the contract: initially 6 months with the possibility of extension - contract FTC (full-time)
