The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. In this role you will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership skills to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for our clients, bridging business requirements with technical solutions and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes.
You will apply AWS frameworks such as the Well Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption Framework, demonstrate technical credibility across stakeholders, and translate customer needs into clear technical requirements. You will manage technical risks, validate solutions against business goals, and maintain relevant AWS certifications, domain expertise, and effective communication with technical and business audiences.
Eligibility for UK Government Security Clearance is required for this role ().
Key job responsibilities- Lead and manage complex cloud migration and transformation projects or programmes from inception to completion
- Ensure successful delivery of project or programme outcomes within agreed time frames, budgets, and quality parameters
- Develop and execute project or programme level planning, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving business objectives
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across customers, partners, and internal teams at all levels
- Drive key decisions and resolve project or programme level risks and issues
- Establish robust governance models, project or programme structures, and communication plans
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of technical specialists
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance requirements
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate engineering discussions, and align with customer business outcomes
- Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements and map them to business outcomes
- Experience in leading and delivering enterprise level IT engagements
- Knowledge of technology principles and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms, and consumer facing technology
- Experience in leading multiple Agile teams (e.g., Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale
- Active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI ACP, PRINCE2)
- AWS certification
- Experience delivering customer engagements in a professional services role
- Experience with Agile and project management toolsets such as Jira, Rally, VersionOne, or Taiga
- Experience working with and presenting to C level executives, IT, and lines of business across organizations or equivalent
