This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified childcare practitioner to work with a highly qualified team in a nice setting including outdoor area. Our caring and nurturing environment is true for children but also for our staff members. We look for candidates who are passionate about working with young children and love to continue learning and self reflecting. This can also be an entry point to become early years teacher in subsequent years. We don't require the candidate to speak French.
Duties & responsibilities:
To welcome children and allow them to grow in a caring and nurturing manner. This applies to all steps of the day (welcome, activities, outdoor learning times, lunch, and nap time). The EY team assists children in their personal needs whilst ensuring they become more independent
To support the class teacher in the organisation and delivery of the different activities. The senior TA is in charge of preparing a planning of activities in her own language as well as leading two or three circle times per week. She also finds the support resources (books and songs) based on the current topic.
To ensure any Key Children are appropriately planned for and supported - regular observations including the weekly observation sent to parents via Tapestry. The TAs draft the mid-year / end of year reports / 2y checks - they have to be validated by the teachers before submitting them to the office. The TAs are also invited to the parents' meetings if they wish to join.
To ensure the right operation of the class routine (manage the lunch box for the class, water bottles, beddings)
To ensure the classroom and the playground are well organised and facilitate opportunities for learning while respecting Health and Safety requirements.
Ensure all school policies are followed.
Work in close relationship with the office and the rest of the staff, including but not only: managing the school and classroom resources (ordering, tidy up, storage), contributing to staff meetings, supporting the needs of school management and having a flexible approach to additional tasks as required.
