Job Description
General Summary

Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IoT, smartwatches and other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the entire product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with global systems and software teams.
  • Develop sensor algorithms in high level languages (MATLAB, Python) and validate algorithm performance.
  • Make effective engineering trade offs between performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexity.
  • Perform embedded software development in C/C++ for fixed and floating point-based designs.
  • Create reports on algorithm evaluation results and deliver complete design and user documentation.
  • Communicate design, results and issues to product management, systems and SW leads.
  • Lead systems projects end to end from requirements gathering to systems design and SW implementation.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science with 4 years of experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field with 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with basic machine learning concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification, logistic regression, Bayesian inference and neural networks.
  • Understanding of basic and advanced concepts of digital signal processing (filter design, LTI systems, etc.).
  • Some experience optimizing DSP operations for edge AI, floating to fixed point implementation and optimizing bitwidths for embedding features on low power devices.
  • Knowledge of linear algebra, probability and statistics.
  • Embedded programming skills with C/C++.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.
  • Knowledge of MEMS and inertial sensors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
