Your opportunity
As a Senior System Engineer Combat, you will be at the heart of defining and steering system requirements and integration strategies for cutting-edge naval defense platforms. This role places you at the crossroads of multidisciplinary engineering, where you'll oversee both functional and non-functional requirements while coordinating system architecture, integration, and IVVQ processes. You'll serve as a technical authority guiding project execution, bridging stakeholder needs with engineering solutions, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-performance combat systems in naval vessels.
This is a key opportunity for a driven engineer with systems thinking and defense domain experience to work on some of the most strategically vital and technologically advanced maritime platforms in Europe.
What you will do
- Lead and maintain system requirements across all combat system modules and subsystems
- Ensure traceability, alignment, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as technical lead for combat system architecture and integration, shaping engineering scope
- Oversee and coordinate Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) activities
- Evaluate deliverables to ensure all requirements are tested and met
- Serve as the technical interface for stakeholders, aligning expectations and promoting integration best practices
- Resolve non-functional requirements and continuously improve engineering and IVVQ processes
- Contribute to complex, multidisciplinary design environments with a strong focus on naval systems

What you already have
- A Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Naval Architecture, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
- Extensive experience in system or subcontract management of complex technical systems
- In-depth knowledge of naval or defense-related combat systems and their integration
- Experience in using requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Proven ability to lead or coordinate within complex engineering environments
- Fluent command of English, with the ability to read German documentation
- Eligibility for a security clearance; clean background and excellent references
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are mandatory-dual or non-EU nationals, as well as visa holders, are not eligible due to the military nature of the work
