About Global Trade Solutions (GTS)GTS comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia. This role forms part of the GTS Structured Trade team in the UK, a key home market for HSBC, focused on structuring and executing Asset Based Lending (ABL) transactions. HSBC has a market-leading presence in the UK ABL market, and we are actively looking to further grow this position across a broad range of deal structures and sectors.
Job RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team as a Senior Structurer, Asset Based Lending (ABL). The base location for this role is London, but other locations may be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Support the promotion of Asset Based Lending in Global Trade Solutions to senior stakeholders in the Large Corporate, Mid Market Enterprise, and Leveraged businesses to ensure a flow of origination and requests for proposals.
- Support the Sales team with the origination of ABL transactions and lead deal execution through active engagement in client planning, customer pitches, and deal discussions.
- Build the UK ABL proposition by analyzing growth strategies across different customer segments and sectors, refining our proposition to address market opportunities.
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of customer-facing documents and indicative term sheets.
- Provide detailed financial benefit analyses and supporting information for customer requests.
- Ensure that client materials are accurate, reliable, and effectively communicate HSBC's offerings.
- Consider operational and regulatory impacts in pitch presentations across geographies.
- Analyze market trends, sector knowledge, and competitors' market positions regularly.
- Act as a conduit between sales, operations, and product teams to keep ABL product documentation up to date.
- Engage and negotiate with HSBC-approved legal panel firms regarding ABL solutions, requiring detailed knowledge of ABL documentation.
- Proven track record in deal structuring and execution within the UK ABL market, with a proactive approach to new lending opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of ABL solutions and structures across various sectors and geographies; familiarity with other Structured Trade solutions is a plus.
- Understanding of ABL legal and facility documentation, including reviewing valuation reports and due diligence materials.
- Knowledge of working capital management and its impacts on corporate customers, with the ability to share this knowledge across teams.
- Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively propose solutions.
- Awareness of market trends affecting large corporate, mid-market, and leveraged customer segments.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Our Commitment
