Senior Structural Engineer - Temporary Works/Utilities (Permanent)
Location: North West England | Full-time | Permanent
We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead temporary works and pipeline design for high-profile utility projects. If you're passionate about engineering, enjoy mentoring junior staff, and want to work on major UK gas infrastructure projects, this role is for you.
What you'll do:
Lead design and review of 2D/3D drawings and structural calculations
Oversee temporary works: pipe supports, trench boxes, ditch crossings, flumes, sheet-piled excavations
Guide junior engineers and CAD teams, providing technical leadership
Ensure compliance with BS, EN, Eurocodes, and CDM 2015
Support innovation, BIM, and digital construction methods
You'll need:
BEng/MEng in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, IStructE, IMechE)
6-8+ years in civil infrastructure/pipeline design
Strong knowledge of permanent & temporary works, BS 5975, Eurocodes
Excellent communicator and team leader
