Senior technical expert & Product Owner/SME for Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive

This role is full time and permanent, starting as soon as possible. You will be a senior technical expert and product owner for Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive in the Cloud and Data Centre (C&DC) team, providing round time support and driving continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

• Senior technical expert & Product Owner/SME for Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive, including File shares, home drives, NAS, Windows file servers & underlying storage, and data transfers into and out of these systems such as Azure Box.
• Maintenance & support of RWE's Cloud and Data Centre (C&DC) storage services in conjunction with internal teams, Cloud Service Providers (CSP) and Managed Service Providers (MSP).
• Communicate and define RWE IT File Services requirements and standards to the MSP teams, ensuring adherence and providing technical leadership.
• Implement operational services that are highly available, scalable, and self healing in RWE's Cloud & DC platforms based on functional & technical specifications.
• Coordinate & collaborate with other product owners & leads to maximise the team's potential.
• Drive continuous service improvement, including automation of operational processes & remediations, focusing on enhancing customer experience, reducing inefficiency & duplication, & accelerating speed to delivery.
• Create & maintain forward looking roadmaps for Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive, including dependent systems & processes, that support business & department objectives.
• Directly support project deliveries that impact Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive.
• Ensure ITIL operating procedures are adhered to and actively manage the resolution of incidents, problems and change requests for the team.

Your profile

• 10 years technical IT work experience in Storage, File Services, Backup & Archive & dependent technologies in both on premises & cloud environments.
• Experience governing external or managed service providers.
• Strong understanding of cloud benefits and extensive experience working with Azure.
• Strong communication and networking skills.
• Willingness to travel - mostly up to four days a month between Germany and the UK; global travel as required.
• Strong motivation to continuously improve knowledge on IT and soft skill topics.
• Ability to work closely with IT architects and project managers on both technical and planning topics.
• Articulate complex technical topics in an understandable manner to non technical staff.
• Understand business and IT requirements, translating them into IT infrastructure solutions.
