Job Description

We are offering an exciting Band 6 role to an experienced clinician looking to develop leadership skills, drive, innovation and influence service delivery as part of our Adult Mental Health Speech and Language Therapy Team within the Directorate of Mental Health. You will support people with mental health needs such as psychosis, personality disorder, autism, schizophrenia and Huntington's Disease, covering Acute, Rehab, Forensic and Intensive Care Mental Health Wards as well as In patient and Community Huntington's Disease Services and work within the Criminal Justice System.

The role is 34 hours.

Main duties of the job

Work as a specialist clinician supporting the planning and delivery of high quality Speech and Language Therapy services for the client group in Huntington's Disease and inpatient mental health services. Facilitate optimum communication skills and safe eating and drinking for adults with Huntington's Disease and mental health needs in the inpatient service and community. Work independently with support from senior colleagues for more complex cases, take full student placements, supervise volunteers and assistants, and demonstrate skills and knowledge in relation to Huntington's Disease and Mental Health. Contribute to the delivery and development of the Mental Health, Forensic, Challenging Behaviour and Eating and Drinking care pathways and the Communication Strategy.
