Job Description
Responsibilities 
- You will be designing and implementing new features to support customer requirements as well as continuously improving the quality and reliability of the update stack client code responsible for discovery, installation, and lifecycle of updates to the operating system.
- You will work with other teams across WSD and Windows to design and build features that enable the most efficient and seamless way to update their components, bringing to market the latest in innovation including ML/AI models, applications, and security updates. As we look toward a new future with Agentic AI and AI Orchestration, you will contribute new ideas and thinking as we move forward.
- You will design, test, and develop these features based on internal and external customer requirements, leveraging a fast-paced quarterly planning cycle. There are ample opportunities to impact the organization by collaborating, innovating, and building new internal processes and tools to support fast yet reliable code deployment to validation rings and retail customers.
- You will address security vulnerabilities and build resilient architecture for your components in today's security-focused landscape.
- You will monitor monthly retail releases to Windows and diagnose, mitigate, and resolve issues expeditiously when they occur.
- You will mentor junior developers and interns joining the team.
- You will work closely with other software engineers and architects on the team and partner teams globally in an inclusive and collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design, coding, rapid prototyping, debugging, and problem solving.
- Recent experience with products and services leveraging the latest generative AI models and agents.
- Experience in cross-group collaboration and communication.
- Background in operating system fundamentals and deployment technology.
- Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Focus on meeting customer needs.
- Contributing to team culture and a track record of learning and growth.
