Your teamThe role is for the DMA (Direct Market Access) team as a senior engineer. We're responsible for improving, maintaining and supporting our Execution Management System (EMS) which is implemented with an Order Management System (OMS). We work with IG's hedging providers (banks, liquidity providers, brokers) to allow IG to hedge and IG's clients to trade.
Your role in the Team's SuccessAs a Senior Engineer joining our Direct Market Access (DMA) team, you'll be part of a collaborative and dynamic group that values technical excellence, continuous improvement and growth. You'll bring in your own expertise while also learning new skills and exploring new technologies. Your primary focus will be on designing and delivering new features, as well as testing, maintaining, and supporting our range of applications.
What you'll doDeliver reliable and performant code, with unit testing and automated testing where necessary
Work closely with internal stakeholders, when necessary while keeping in mind the external clients' needs
Implement feature and reliability enhancements to existing software
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our large and complex system
Maintain the pieces of infrastructure required to build and verify our software
Key Qualification Requirements:
Demonstrable understanding of Java, Spring / Spring Boot, Maven and SQL
Familiarity with distributed messaging and communications technologies for ensuring reliable and efficient data exchange
Practised user of Linux command line and scripting, especially in the context of troubleshooting and support work
Proven ability to handle complex changes, and address impediments effectively
Take ownership of the elaboration, design, and implementation of features or components and deliver a well-tested solution in a timely fashion
Curious and keen to learn new technologies and possessing skills to work in a diverse technology stack
