By joining the Regulatory and NBAP (New Business Approval) Operations team, you will play a key role in the design, build and support of regulatory components and solutions in RWEST's ETRM system OpenLink Endur, to ensure our compliance with energy trading regulations. As a Software Developer you will be responsible for developing the solutions in close collaboration with the business users and with the support of a great IT team.
Responsibilities- Work in an agile model and take responsibility for business critical applications and processes in the Regulatory and NBAP Operations Team.
- Learn about energy/commodity trading covering multiple jurisdictions globally and the regulatory obligations applicable to RWEST.
- Interact closely with teams across IT and the business (e.g. Risk, Back Office, Front Office) to understand new regulatory requirements, evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Contribute to building high quality software and processes by implementing robust, efficient solutions.
- Communicate progress to stakeholders, end users and to the team.
- Think creatively to ensure immediate business goals are satisfied while also achieving long term success of the solution. Continuously seek improvement opportunities and ways to reduce technical debt.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure RWEST remains compliant and supportive of new trading opportunities.
- Solid experience in Java/JVS and SQL.
- Knowledge of Endur or similar ETRM systems.
- Self starter with strong analytical skills and a track record of complex problem solving. High degree of personal commitment, motivation and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with resilience to perform in a dynamic and challenging business environment.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and understand technical and business reasoning.
- Experience with relational and document databases.
- Good knowledge of software development best practice, including Continuous Integration.
- Understanding of energy trading & regulations.
- Experience in Endur configuration, development and trade modelling.
- Practical experience using Agile methodologies.
- Experience with AWS / Cloud technologies.
