Role Overview/Responsibilities

A Senior SAP Specialist (S2P) is required for our utilities client to lead the proactive drive across the business to seek opportunities to innovate business processes and associated SAP solutions to enable delivery of their business plan for the assigned area of expertise, whilst ensuring that investments in the SAP platform are cost effective for the long term whilst ensuring maximum benefit from spend.

To be responsible for increasing speed of innovation and enhancement within the SAP Solutions and eliminate problems and introduce benefit by undertaking potentially complex root cause analysis and finding innovative and fast delivery of system solutions for which there may or may not be a quick or standard solution.

Also to continually assess the impact of emerging SAP technologies and product road maps against business process needs and interpreting business value against their business plan for SAP stakeholders so that a clear road map can be agreed and maintained for the future of SAP solutions within the business.

Work with a number of stakeholders and externally to promote "the art of the possible" relating to latest SAP technologies (HANA, Mobile, Cloud solutions etc.) understanding where the benefit of the technology can be applied to improve the performance against the Business Plans.

Engaging with stakeholders across the business and ITS including Senior Managers to understand their processes, pain areas and key business drivers under the Business Plan so that any recommendations for innovation and enhancement of the SAP solutions is aligned and agreed.

Working with Process Owners and Business Analysts to ensure that business process requirements are clearly defined.

Transitioning requirements into functional definition for partner SAP development.

Assuring that partner delivered solutions adhere to the Clients (and SAP best practice) standards, including SAP Processes, SAP Configuration and SAP Customisation (bespoke development).

Responsible for working closely with the Support teams to provide best practice guidance and advice to ensure the maximum stability and availability of the SAP Systems already in place.

Working closely with other teams across the organisation to ensure where the department interacts with SAP Solutions that best practice is deployed to reduce TCO for SAP Solutions. eg Testing, Masterdata, Data Governance.

* Process Owners and Business Analysts
* Architecture, Service and Information Security teams
* Business Managers and Team Leaders
* Senior Management Stakeholders
* External Partners

Essential Skills & Experience required:

As the Senior SAP Specialist (S2P) you will possess the following:

Experience of implementing and supporting SAP solutions with expert technical skills and deep understanding in SAP Source to Pay modules, Ariba and SAP Materials Management (Logistics/MRP) and how these integrate and have inter dependencies with other SAP modules and systems.
Recognised SAP certification or equivalent verifiable experience.
Demonstrable experience in delivering benefit by combining SAP technical competence with business and commercial awareness to improve processes or system functionality.
Ability to utilise the high level of SAP Solution knowledge and fact finding skills so that the current and future SAP landscape can be assessed and a roadmap recommended based on its potential for business enablement, cost reduction, performance improvement or sustainability.
Solid root cause analysis skills combined with advanced analysis and problem solving ability to translate complex problems into solutions with clearly articulated potential impacts (both threats and opportunities).
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to engage and influence across the organisation at all levels and externally.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

*Please be advised this is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will be required to be based on the client's site in Newport, South Wales 3 days per week.*
