An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Safeguarding Team. We are recruiting 2 full time and 1 part time Band 7 Senior Safeguarding Practitioners to support the national rollout of Families First Programme. This new role meets the reform requirements of Working Together to safeguard Children 2026. It is based at Gwendolen House (subject to change). The position reports to the Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and the Lead Named Practitioner for Safeguarding Adults (MCA /DoLS / MAPPA / Prevent Focus) and strengthens safeguarding assurance across LPT and the wider Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland area.
Responsibilities- Deliver effective safeguarding supervision to staff in frontline services, ensuring risk areas within cases are managed and staff are adequately supported.
- Support and contribute to planning, delivery and evaluation of LPT safeguarding education and training programmes.
- Work in partnership with agency and professional partners to improve outcomes for all, utilising the Whole Family approach adopted by LPT.
- Support and contribute to the development of the multi agency child protection team.
- Represent LPT on the multi agency child protection team as part of the Families First programme being rolled out in Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.
- Develop and deliver high quality safeguarding practice across the range of services provided by LPT.
- Extensive clinical experience of case load management and working with people at risk.
- Experience in safeguarding, including knowledge of MCA, DoLS, MAPPA, and Prevent.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Permission to work in the UK and DBS disclosure as per the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
