Amazon's Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team provides a framework for Amazon's transportation programs to identify and manage risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. Our primary mission is to perform independent and objective assessments of risks and testing of controls embedded in Amazon business processes, aiming to optimize strategic objectives by minimizing negative surprises.
We seek an experienced Risk Manager to join our Global Risk Management (GRM) team. As Amazon develops new transportation solutions, this global role will collaborate with business leaders to maximize success through tailored risk management techniques. The successful candidate will propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies throughout the business lifecycle. In this visible role, you will work closely with legal, business, product, and operations teams to ensure safety and compliance for Amazon and our transportation partners.
Key job responsibilities- Assist Amazon transportation stakeholders (e.g., risk partners and business leaders) in identifying and managing potential risks (regulatory, operational, or reputational) that could impact strategic objectives if left unaddressed.
- Apply the risk management framework to Amazon transportation programs and influence the product landscape for audits and controls.
- Guide senior leadership, resolve risk management concerns, implement mitigation strategies, and influence the product roadmap.
- Perform readiness reviews on new program launches.
This risk leader will leverage their knowledge of regulations, industry standards, and risk assessment and mitigation experience to shape Amazon's transportation policies and strategies across the business lifecycle.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
- Experience using technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes
- Master's degree or equivalent
