Location: Various children's homes across South WalesContract: Full-time, PermanentSalary: Up to £33,000 per annum

Brook Street Social Care are seeking dedicated Senior Residential Support Workers to join a passionate team across children's homes in South Wales. The RoleAs a Senior Residential Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager, leading by example and helping to develop staff skills and team performance. You'll work directly with children and young people, promoting their wellbeing, independence, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, external agencies, and the local community
  • Support the Registered Manager in staff development and resource management
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and financial procedures
  • Communicate effectively and securely across the team
  • Contribute to project planning and quality assurance improvements
  • Maintain positive relationships with young people and their families
  • Promote safeguarding and manage risk appropriately
  • Uphold equality, diversity, and individual rights
  • Support education, identity, and personal development
  • Assess needs and review care plans
  • Implement behaviour management and risk reduction programmes
  • Encourage participation in leisure and recreational activities
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

About YouYou'll be a compassionate and dependable individual with experience in residential care and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.

Requirements

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a care setting
  • Strong communication skills and a caring nature
  • Motivation to empower young people and promote independence
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a strong work ethic
  • Aged 22 or over (to maintain appropriate age gaps with young people in care)
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
