Job Description

Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader

Location: Sunderland

Salary: £41,184 (including sleeps)

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Rolling rota - 2 on, 4 off (12-hour shifts) with one additional day per month (192-206 hours per month)

Employment Type: Permanent

Sleep-ins: 2-3 per week (included within salary)

Service: Children's Home

Service Users: Children aged 7-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or currently enrolled

Experience Required: Experience within Residential Children's Services or similar setting supporting children with challenging behaviour

You will act as the lead practitioner on shift, supporting, mentoring, and coaching team members while ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered.

  • You do not hold a Full UK Driving Licence and do not have a car.
  • You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care (this is not deemed equivalent).
  • Candidates with only HealthCare, NHS, CQC, or Nursery Practitioner qualifications will not be considered.
  • You require sponsorship - no sponsorship available.
  • Individuals with only CQC experience and who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children's Home will not be considered.
