Senior Residential Care Practitioner - Solo Children's Residential Home
Location: Preston, PR2
Provision: Solo Children's Residential Home (EBD, staffed 2:1)
Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off (includes sleep ins)
Hourly Rate: £14.20 - £14.70 (DOE)
Sleep ins: £65 per sleep
On call: £20 (Fri / Sat / Sun)
Shifts per Month: 10-11
Estimated Take Home:
Approx. £30,500 base + £8,580 sleeps = £39,080

You'll be working alongside a passionate Registered Manager, supported by a highly experienced Responsible Individual and an Operations Manager who genuinely values and supports their teams.
About the HomeThis is a brand new solo provision based in Preston (PR2), supporting one young person with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The service is designed for high support needs and will be staffed 2:1 at all times, offering a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing environment.
The home will open following successful Ofsted registration, anticipated by the end of August.
The RoleWe are looking to recruit 2 experienced Senior Residential Care Practitioners who are confident, compassionate, and committed to delivering high quality therapeutic care within a 2:1 staffing model.
Essential CriteriaYou must have one of the following:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- A Level 4 Diploma - Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Residential Pathway)
- Be currently enrolled on either qualification, even if not yet completed
And also:
- A full UK driving licence
- A minimum of 1 year's experience working in residential childcare
- Experience supporting young people with complex needs
- A calm, resilient approach and strong safeguarding values
- Confidence working in a solo / high support environment
- Be part of a brand new solo service with strong therapeutic intent
- Work in a 2:1 staffing ratio for more meaningful, impactful care
- Access ongoing CPD and Level 4 training support
