Are you an experienced Research Assistant with molecular biology or biochemistry expertise? This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative scientific organisation in London, supporting cutting-edge technology development projects across multiple R&D teams. Proclinical is looking for a Senior Research Assistant to contribute to laboratory-based research, routine production work, and development activities that directly support innovative diagnostic technology platforms.
Responsibilities- Support the development of new molecular biology and biochemistry modules and help integrate them into diagnostic workflows.
- Complete routine production activities for teams working in Surface Chemistry, Clonal Amplification, and/or Sequencing, delivering high-quality output to strict timelines.
- Execute laboratory experiments efficiently and accurately, following guidance from project leads.
- Record detailed experimental descriptions and carry out data analysis to a high standard.
- Identify and scale technical issues, participating in troubleshooting and problem solving discussions.
- Maintain and manage all laboratory documentation in line with ISO 13485 and internal quality standards.
- Contribute ideas and insights toward resolving technical challenges within ongoing experiments.
- Carry out additional scientific duties as required.
- BSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong practical experience with standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (e.g., PCR). This should come from working or a placement, and not just studies.
- The ability to perform, troubleshoot and analyse laboratory experiments with consistent accuracy.
- Experience using electronic lab notebooks for experimental documentation.
- A positive attitude toward routine and occasionally repetitive work, ensuring reliable and consistent output.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to generate high-quality experimental data.
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows (preferred but not essential).
